Fisker Ocean has gigantic range
Fisker Ocean
That’s refreshing, a car that goes much further than the manufacturer ever promised. The official WLTP measurement results of the Fisker Ocean are out and are quite striking. In fact, the top model – the Fisker Ocean Extreme – boasts a range of a whopping 707 kilometers. That is 77 kilometers more than Fisker itself communicated last year. The big boss – Henrik Fisker – is surprised himself. “This result is a huge milestone for everyone at Fisker and we are thrilled that the driving range exceeds our initial calculations.”
Hyper Range
Specifications of the battery pack have not yet been released by Fisker. The brand talks about a “Hyper Range” battery and the Ocean has solar panels on the roof. What is clear, however, is that there will be three different variants. At the top of the food chain is the powerful Extreme, which is powered by two electric motors as well as having all-wheel drive. This machine is capable of racing from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
Cheaper than ID.3
Below that is the Ultra. It is also equipped with all-wheel drive and probably also has a range of about 700 kilometers, since it uses the same battery. At the bottom we find the Sport, a more affordable front-wheel-drive variant with a driving range expected to be about 500 km.
Fisker Ocean Prices
In Germany, the Fisker Ocean has now received an award. The Extreme has a price tag of at least 74,417 euros, the Ultra starts from 63,947 euros and the Sport starts from 43,547 euros. This makes the entry-level car cheaper than a base Volkswagen ID.3, which costs 45,990 euros in the Netherlands and has a driving range of 426 kilometers. As mentioned, the car is expected to come to the Netherlands later this year. Automaker Magna Steyr assembles the cars in Austria.
