‘Fat’ electric Zero for a bargain

April 20, 2023

Zero Motorcycles is the brand with the largest model range of electric motorcycles. And it has been active in our country for over a decade. Now Zero is turning on the gas full blast to drive sales. All irons are thrown into the fire to get you on the electric motorcycle.

Discounts on Zero motorcycles

You may have trouble with range or charging time. The purchase price of about 26 grand for a Zero DSR/X allroad or SR/S sport touring model or an SR/F roadster is also pretty swallowable. Sure they perform well, pulling up like hell in about 3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. For the same amount of money, however, you can have a “fat” allroader on gasoline, such as the BMW R 1250 GS, for example.

Offensive of Zero

Zero is now playing trumps and going on the offensive. On the DSR/X, SR/F and SR/S, there is now a cash back promotion with 3,500 off the new price. Zero Motorcycles further points out the many tax advantages for business buyers. Companies can again take advantage of the Environmental Investment Allowance (MIA) since Jan. 1, 2023. Up to 45% of investment costs can be deducted from company profits. Furthermore, the VAMIL scheme also applies from the aforementioned date. This tax incentive allows you to write off up to 75% of the investment at a time of your choosing.

Investment Deduction Schemes

So if you see something in an electric motorcycle, for example for commuting or business use, do the math. If you don’t own a business yourself, make your employer aware of the investment tax credits. Then, of course, you have to like riding an electric motorcycle. In our experience, that riding gets used super fast. Acceleration is impressive and steering with a Zero is light and agile.

Commuting

Moreover, if there is the possibility of charging the bike at work, then the electric bike is interesting for commuting. Even if you buy it yourself with Zero’s discount and thus cannot deduct anything for tax purposes. You do roll smoothly between traffic jams, can park easily, and operating and maintenance costs are lower than with a gasoline engine.

Under ten grand!

Zero gives a discount of 1,500 euros on its lighter models and cheaper models. For example, we call a DS or FX. You will have the latter starting at 13,940 euros. With MIA and VAMIL, that amount can be brought back under ten grand. The FX is primarily for shorter distances and, due to its lightweight construction, is ideally suited for use in heavy city traffic.
