EV Experience 2025: new Xpeng G6 and Xpeng G9 champion fast charging

October 2, 2025

Xpeng G6, crossover with lots of tech

Let’s start with the smallest of this duo: the Xpeng G6. The car – a counterpart to the Tesla Model Y – has recently had a comprehensive update, increasing its fast-charging power to 451 kW. This allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 12 minutes with a suitable fast charger. This technology is possible thanks to an 800V vehicle architecture.

By the way, Xpeng supplies two versions of the G6: the RWD Long Range and the AWD Performance. The former already comes standard with massage seats, Nappa leather upholstery and a panoramic roof. This car has a range of up to 525 kilometers (WLTP) combined with 20-inch alloys. The AWD Performance gets 510 kilometers on a full charge of power, also with 20-inch wheels. Both models use an 80.8 kWh LFP battery.

The Xpeng G6 RWD Long Range, with an output of 218 kW (297 hp) and 440 Nm of torque, has a starting price of 46,990 euros. The AWD Performance with 358 kW (487 hp) and 660 Nm will set you back 51,990 euros.

Xpeng G9, if one size fits all

If you prefer a larger family SUV, the Xpeng G9 is the way to go. This flagship model from Xpeng can fast charge up to 525 kW, absurdly fast. The G9 also uses an 800V on-board grid. The interior, by the way, has two 2.4K displays, nicely placed side by side.

The Xpeng G9 is also available as either RWD Long Range or AWD Performance. The driving range of the entry-level model can reach 585 kilometers according to the WLTP test standard. With the AWD, it is 540 kilometers. What should all that cost? That’s not too bad – especially considering the rich equipment. For the G9 RWD Long Range, Xpeng is asking a minimum of 63,990 euros. This version has 258 kW (351 hp) and 465 Nm. The AWD Performance costs 73,990 euros and offers 422 kW (575 hp) and 695 Nm. Both versions use a 94.6 kWh LFP battery.
