Electric Volkswagen e-Transporter is a reality

The new Volkswagen e-Transporter offers a more spacious cabin, a digital cockpit, a larger cargo area (61 mm longer cargo area, 148 mm more width between wheel arches), a higher payload of over 1,100 kg and a towing weight of up to 2,300 kg. The model comes in five different versions: Transporter, Life, Style, the luxury Bulli and as an extra tough PanAmericana.

Lineup Volkswagen e-Transporter

The Volkswagen e-Transporter is always equipped with a 64 kWh (net) battery pack and offers a choice of three power versions: 100 kW (136 hp), 160 kW (218 hp) and 210 kW (286 hp). The driving range is up to 330 kilometers (WLTP). AC charging is available at 11kW and DC fast charging up to 125 kW, which charges the battery pack from 10% to 80% in 38 min.

Additional versions forthcoming

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will introduce the e-Transporter Double Cab and the e-Caravelle and the e-Transporter Kombi for passenger transport in the next six months. Versions with a smaller 43 kWh (net) battery capacity will also follow in the future.

Standard e-Transporter equipment

The entry-level version of the new e-Transporter – simply called “Transporter” – comes standard with the following: LED headlights with high beam assist (Light Assist) and LED taillights, Keyless Start, air conditioning, 12-inch full digital instrument cluster, a 13-inch infotainment screen, Cruise Control, rear parking sensors (Park Distance Control), Lane Assist and emergency braking assist (Front Assist) with pedestrian and cyclist recognition.

Above the base version are the Life, with a starting price of 48,640 euros (ex) and the Style that starts at 51,590 euros (ex). The Life comes standard with automatic air conditioning, six-way adjustable driver and passenger seats with armrests and front and rear parking sensors, including a rearview camera. The Style lives up to its name with 16-inch alloy wheels, body-color bumpers and mirrors, stylishly illuminated entry strips, Side Assist, Lane Assist and adaptive cruise control, among other features.

Bulli forms top model Volkswagen e-Transporter

As usual, the absolute top model in the e-Transporter range is the Bulli, which comes from 53,840 euros (ex), with features such as IQ.LIGHT – LED matrix headlights, high-gloss black accents in the grille, and LED taillights with an exclusive signature. For extra comfort, the e-Transporter as a Bulli is equipped with dual-zone Climatronic climate control, seat heating, a navigation system, and a 360-degree camera (Area View) for optimal all-round visibility.

e-Transporter PanAmericana

New to this generation is the rugged e-Transporter PanAmericana, with a starting price of 52,190 euros (ex). Like its diesel-engined counterpart, the electric PanAmericana is adorned with striking all-terrain elements such as notched sideskirts and wheel arches. In the interior, we detect high-gloss black trim, a heatable windshield, 17-inch alloy wheels and electrically folding mirrors with ambient lighting. Keyless Entry & Start is also included.

Custom

As is the case with the new Transporter, the e-Transporter can be fully personalized with functional options such as passenger seat or passenger bench (optionally available with load-through function), roof rails/carriers, 230V sockets, wooden or plastic floor or a tow bar (maximum towing weight: 2,300 kg). The color palette consists of nine basic colors and is supplemented for the Transporter and Life equipment line by more than 45 (!) special color options to match any corporate identity.

What about warranty?

All versions of the new Volkswagen e-Transporter are now available to assemble and order. Every e-Transporter comes standard with 2 years full manufacturer’s warranty, 8 years / 160,000 kilometers warranty on the high-voltage battery and up to 5 years maintenance and MOT. The free service operations apply only to fully electric vehicles imported new by Pon’s Automobielhandel B.V.. Electric vehicles that have not been imported by Pon’s Automobielhandel B.V. or for which a refund has been requested by the first owner are excluded from free service.
