Electric motorcycle Flying Flea

November 14, 2024

Royal Enfield is introducing a new brand of electric motorcycles. Extraordinary indeed, since the Indian manufacturer is after all best known for motorcycles with retro styling. A kind of modern classics, whose appearance is inspired by the Royal Enfield Bullit of the last century.

Flying Flea

Flying Flea has been pitched to the world as the brand for the future. But even the first proposed models, the Flying Flea C6 and S6, have retro styling. The design of the C6 is classically toned and that of the S6 is borrowed from a scrambler model. In this sense, then, Royal Enfield does not deny its roots.

Separate front suspension

The authentic design is highlighted by a contemporary reinterpretation of the original Flying Flea front suspension. This type of fork was characteristic of pre-1930s motorcycles. This striking element of an already unique design has not only been adopted in the new Flying Flea. It has also been modernized and is available for the Flying Flea C6.

Frame made of forged aluminum

The forged aluminum frame is light, strong and timeless to look at. The battery housing made of magnesium follows the shapes of the frame. The design of the cooling fins matches it. This makes the battery housing an eye-catcher in the overall styling and gives the bike a robust look.

200,000 driving modes

In the past six months, as many as 28 patents have been filed for innovative designs and systems. Software, developed in-house, continuously monitors and optimizes driving for optimizing range to creating an engaging driving experience. A Vehicle Control Unit links all physical and digital touchpoints. This VCU enables more than 200,000 different driving mode combinations. The “phone-as-key” technology makes it easy to get on and drive off.

Scheduled for 2026

Slope-dependent ABS and cruise control are standard. Charging, according to Flying Flea, is easy and can be done at a household outlet. No information on battery size and driving range is given yet, let alone power. From the description and images, it can be deduced that both, slenderly styled models will be aimed primarily at urban use. The market introduction of the Flying Flea C6 and S6 is scheduled for spring 2026.
