DS Automobiles gets out of Formula E and moves on to something else

March 23, 2026

Partnership strategy with SailGP

Xavier Peugeot, CEO of DS Automobiles: “After eleven years of pioneering Formula E, with eighteen wins, two drivers’ titles and two constructors’ titles, DS Automobiles has proven its ability to translate motorsport into high-tech applications, as visible in the latest DS N4, DS N7 and DS N8. To further strengthen French Excellence, a next step is now being taken by focusing the partnership strategy on SailGP, a unique innovation platform where technological performance and emotion come together.”

DS Automobiles in Formula E

The first premium brand to join in Season 2 in 2015, DS Automobiles distinguished itself in 142 races with four championship titles, eighteen wins, 55 podium finishes and 26 pole positions at circuits worldwide. In Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, through three successive generations of increasingly successful single-seaters developed by DS Performance, DS Automobiles built an exceptional sporting record against some of the world’s leading manufacturers.

Next Step

To stay as close to the customer as possible, sailing is a particularly rich testing ground for new approaches. The work on aerodynamic efficiency, reducing drag and striving to save weight through advanced composite materials and software development offers valuable insights for automotive engineering. As an extension of the high-tech expertise that characterizes the brand, the long-term strategic collaboration with SailGP Team France aims to further push the boundaries of innovation while exploring a new emotional dimension.
