Drool! The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R
Light four-cylinder motorcycles of 400cc were once serious belly flippers. With your torso flat on the tank, you can pull through in every gear and accelerate from corner to corner under the lusty sounds of a high-revving four-pit engine. To take them each time with playful ease and give way to much fatter and more cumbersome motorcycles.
Ninja ZX-4R makes 15,000 rpm
That image should come to mind with this new 399cc Kawasaki ZX-4R. The engine produces up to 80 hp and is allowed to rev up to 15,000 rpm. A very light, forged camshaft and cast aluminum pistons make this high speed possible. While a lightweight flywheel ensures eager engine response. The Kawasaki has an Assist & Slipper clutch and the SE and RR versions have an Up/Down Quickshifter as standard.
Trellis frame
The Kawasaki ZX-4R’s steel Trellis frame and suspension focus on agility and control. The weight distribution, swing arm pivot point and engine block suspension stem from the Ninja Superbikes. Suspension in shock absorption are in the hands of a ø37 mm upside down front fork from Showa and a single strut rear.
Four driving modes
Electronic riding assistance comes in the form of integrated riding modes, which link KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and Power Modes. You can choose from Sport, Road, Rain and Rider (Manual). The Traction Control system is also fully disengageable.
Unmistakably Ninja
The large front Ram-Air intake, dual LED headlights and Kawasaki Racing colors make it instantly recognizable as a member of the sporty Kawasaki Ninja family. The higher positioned clip-ons and good wind protection make it easier for the rider to enjoy a long time in the saddle. The narrow fuel tank improves feel with the engine.
Special circuit mode
Behind the top fairing is a modern 4.3” TFT color display. You can choose a special track mode here that displays only lap times, gear positions and revs from 10,000 rpm. The Kawasaki RIDEOLOGY application can be used to connect to a smartphone for various functions, including capturing GPS route information and important vehicle information.
When is he coming?
In America, Canada, Philippines and Indonesia, the Ninja ZX-4R will be launched this spring. It is expected in Europe in the fall of 2023. Prices will be announced later.
