Driver gives full throttle in car wash and crashes (VIDEO)

Some people can cause an accident with their car anywhere, it seems. A car wash in the American town of Colmar is closed for the next few weeks because a Toyota Camry left a major wreck. The accident was captured by a security camera.

How so!?

The images below show a 77-year-old American neatly buying a ticket at the barrier for a one-way car wash. But then things go wrong. The Camry sprints off, with the driver’s door still open and the driver’s left foot still on the concrete. The man accidentally depressed the gas pedal and did not let go until it was too late. The car drives into the laundromat at high speed, collides and lands on its side.

It took emergency services more than an hour to free the old man. The entire roof of the Camry had to come off. Fortunately, the man was not seriously injured. The car wash did and remains closed for now.
