Does Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo give preview of Corsa GSE?
Just a week after the first teaser images, Opel has pulled the curtain off its new concept car. The full set of images as well as the name are now known: the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo. It will have its world premiere at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich (from September 8 to 14, 2025). As its name suggests, the concept car not only offers a preview of future GSE models. The model also highlights Opel’s commitment to the compact segment and will be available for all to drive this fall in one of the world’s best-known racing simulations: Gran Turismo 7.
GSE sub-brand
“The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo takes our GSE sub-brand to the next level. This model not only demonstrates what is possible with a compact vehicle architecture, but also provides a clear glimpse into the future and appeals to different car enthusiasts. For the first time, an Opel concept cannot only be admired from a distance. This fall, anyone can drive this striking newcomer themselves in Gran Turismo 7 and experience OMG! GSE moments. The result of combining the iconic Corsa name with powerful GSE features speaks for itself,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl.
Powerful Corsa
The concept car is equipped with two electric motors of 350 kW (476 hp) each, one on each axle, good for a combined output of 588 kW (800 hp). Permanent all-wheel drive provides increased grip, better maneuverability and additional vehicle stability. Thanks to the single-speed transmission, the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 320 km/h. An additional boost function delivers an additional 59 kW (80 hp) for up to four seconds on top of that, making overtaking on the track even easier. Once the boost is fully used, it is fully recharged in just 80 seconds.
That’s how big the battery is
Despite the presence of an 82 kWh battery, the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo weighs only 1,170 kg. This is possible thanks to the wide use of lightweight materials throughout its construction.

STLA Small platform
Serious performance goes hand in hand with powerful looks. The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo shows how much design freedom the STLA Small platform offers in terms of proportions and styling. The concept car has a similar footprint to a regular Corsa, but is lower and considerably wider. At the same time, the overall design shows a new, more technical interpretation of Opel’s bold and pure design language. The body shape features sharp, precise lines combined with technical and machine-like details.
At the front, the latest concept from Rüsselsheim carries a sleek variant of the next-generation Opel Vizor. In the center stands the illuminated Opel Blitz, as the focal point of the distinctive Opel Compass, the leading design element that also acts as the visual backbone of the car. On either side, the horizontal axis is accentuated with lighting strips ending in two three-dimensional glass blocks. The vertical axis is also illuminated around the logo, and the central fold continues from the front bumper into the aero optimized hood.
The characteristic compass design also returns at the rear, with a striking brake light designed with edge lighting technology. Together with the powerful ‘OPEL’ lettering, this forms the visual focal point. The wide rear light bar seamlessly joins the rear window, giving the rear a powerful and ‘detoxed’ look. The compass design continues as a central spine in both the exterior and interior and is emphasized in every detail.
Optimized aerodynamics
To ensure that the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo stays firmly on the road even at high speeds, the model features clever, optimized aerodynamic solutions. Aero-curtains in front of the powerfully shaped wheel arches and black aero blade wheel arch extensions ensure smoother airflow, improving stability and handling at high speeds. In addition, the aerodynamic wheels contribute to efficiency by reducing air turbulence in the wheel arches. The active aerodynamic diffuser and the active rear spoiler can increase or decrease downward pressure depending on the driving situation.
As is often the case with concept cars from Rüsselsheim, great attention has been paid to detail on this model. For example, the turn signals are subtly incorporated into the front and rear fenders as slender, horizontal light strips. Furthermore, truncated triangular design elements are incorporated into various components – a nod to legendary racing cars such as the Opel Manta 400 rally car. These shapes are reflected in the wheel structure, roof spoiler and roll cage, among others.

Color use
The powerful overall appearance is enhanced by the use of contrasting colors. The bodywork is finished in pearl white, while aerodynamic components such as the hood, spoiler and diffuser are finished in striking yellow. The roof and front aero blade fender extensions are black. Even the wheels follow this color scheme: the front Goodyear tires are mounted on black-and-yellow 21-inch wheels, while the rear are white-and-yellow 22-inch wheels. In both cases, Bilstein dampers contribute to contact with the road surface and even better handling.
‘Detoxed’ racing experience in a futuristic interior
The interior focuses on a “detoxed” racing experience, fully in line with the distinctive Opel Compass design. The slim steering wheel provides an unobstructed view of all important information, projected via a head-up display – no additional screens are necessary. The result is a cockpit that offers new perspectives on driving. The floating-mounted, lightweight sports driver’s seat – finished in black with bright yellow – is equipped with six-point belts and ensures that the driver is fully absorbed in the driving experience. In combination with the integrated roll cage, the highest safety standards are ensured.
In addition, sensors in the car provide additional safety by signaling the presence of other vehicles. For example, if a vehicle is in the blind spot, a warning appears via illuminated fabrics on the dashboard and door cockpit panels.
Retrospective
The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo represents the latest milestone in Opel’s rich concept history. In 1965, the brand with the Blitz was the first European automaker to present a concept car: the groundbreaking Experimental GT. Sixty years later, Opel is again exploring new roads with a physical concept car at the IAA Mobility 2025, which can also be driven in Gran Turismo 7 – a bridge to the international gaming community.
The Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo draws on Opel’s strong motorsport past, combining it with the iconic Corsa name while offering a glimpse of future generations of sporty GSE models with the Blitz. In summary, a compact, pure electric high-performance model that embodies the DNA of Opel’s dynamic GSE sub-brand in detail.
