Buell will come with Super Cruiser, but when?
Buell Motorcycles is rapidly developing numerous new models. After the Hammerhead 1190 and the naked version 1190 SX, a Super Cruiser and Super Touring are now in the pipeline for 2025. Not with Harley Davidson motorcycles, because that’s not possible after the breakup a few years ago. Buell opts for an evolved V-twin from Rotax. That dates back to the days of the EBR (Erik Buell Racing) division. The short stroke of the pistons made this V-twin more useful in racing.
Unadulterated power cruiser
The Buell Super Cruiser is an unadulterated power cruiser. The American motorcycle maker is overwhelmingly targeting the Ducati Diavel. Indeed, the 1,190cc V-twin produces 175 hp and nearly 140 Nm of torque. The 17-inch wheels, sport tires and long suspension travel promise fine handling.
Buell and Roland Sands
The Super Cruiser was designed with Roland Sands. This former American racing driver proved to be a creditable designer of frames and suspension. According to Buell Motorcycles owner Bill Melvin, this collaboration produces a tough creation, with a great riding position for maximum control. The promised low weight of 202 kg will certainly contribute to this.
Steel frame and light weight
Other than the engine and rims, the Super Cruiser has nothing in common with the old EBR racers. New is the tubular steel frame, in which the V2 is mounted. In the steering head is an upside down fork. The swingarm was modified by Roland Sands and combined with a center horizontal shock absorber. A distinctive Buell detail is the single front brake disc of large diameter in the rim flange.
To Europe?
Buell Motorcycles’ website does not mention anything about a market launch outside the US. A price is also not yet communicated. Given the listed price with the Super Touring, it will be somewhere around $20,000.
