BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe redesigned in many ways
Modified front and a different butt
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe adopts the same upgrades as the recently redesigned BMW 1 Series. As such, the front of the Gran Coupe also closely resembles that of the 1 Series, and the butt has also been modified. The 2 Series Gran Coupe has standard LED headlights with vertical elements for daytime running lights and turn signals. Adaptive LED headlights with glare-free matrix high beam, cornering lights and blue accents are available as an option. The BMW Iconic Glow for the grille will be available from March 2025, should that drive you wild.
New colors BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe
There are also new colors for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe. The range of paint colors includes two Uni paint colors and seven metallic paint colors, along with four BMW Individual paint colors. Like the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has a contrasting high-gloss black roof finish as an option for the first time.
Dimensions BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe
The new generation of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has been lengthened by 20 millimeters to 4,546 millimeters, while the wheelbase measures 2,670 millimeters. Its width is 1,800 millimeters and its height has been increased by 25 millimeters to 1,445 millimeters. The rear seats offer a 40:20:40 split as standard, while the storage volume is 430 liters. M Sport Design
To further emphasize the sportiness of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the competitively priced “M Sport Design” version will be available from the start of production. It includes all exterior parts of the M Sport package and can be ordered from the start of production. The M Sport Design version includes all exterior parts of the M Sport package:
- Large air intakes in the front bumper
- Larger sill extensions
- Rear bumper with diffuser insert
- 18-inch alloy M wheels Styling 975M
The recommended retail price of the M Sport Design version is €1,270.
BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupe: the top model
The BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupe tops the model range. That variant is powered by a 221 kW (300 hp) 4-cylinder engine, good for a 0-100 time of 4.9 seconds.
Full leather-free interior
The redesigned interior of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is fully leather-free as standard. Veganza/Alcantara upholstery is available as an option, combined with contrasting seams for the instrument panel.
New generation of engines, 7-speed Steptronic transmission standard.
With the three-cylinder 125 kW/170 hp in the new BMW 220 Gran Coupe and the four-cylinder 120 kW/163 hp in the new BMW 220d Gran Coupe and 110 kW/150 hp in the new BMW 218d Gran Coupe. All engines transfer their power to the road as standard via a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission. The powertrain of the BMW 220 Gran Coupe and the BMW 220d Gran Coupe are electrified with 48-volt Mild Hybrid technology.
Increased rigidity
Increased rigidity of the body structure and chassis joints helps the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe achieve improved agility, steering precision and cornering dynamics. Further chassis refinement includes optimized kinematics and new shock absorber technology. The increased caster offset of the front wheels ensures stable straight-line driving and optimized steering feel.
Light-alloy wheels
Standard features also include an integrated braking system and 17-inch alloy wheels (BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupe: 18 inches). The M Sport package includes Adaptive M Suspension with a lowered suspension, sport steering wheel and 18-inch alloy wheels. Optional extras include alloy wheels up to 19 inches and an M Sport brake system.
Driver assistance systems
The standard and optional driving assistance systems available for the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe set standards among the competition in terms of functional range and reliability. Standard features include Driving Assistant with Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, exit warning and Speed Limit Info, as well as Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant. Optional features include Steering and Lane Control Assistant, automatic Speed Limit Assist and Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function. Parking Assistant Professional is also available for the BMW 220 Gran Coupe and BMW 220d Gran Coupe models: it allows drivers to control parking maneuvers from outside their vehicle using a smartphone and the My BMW App.
Standard equipment BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe
The significantly expanded range of standard equipment for the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe also includes BMW Live Cockpit Plus with the cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps. New optional equipment packages enable targeted personalization. For example, the Innovation Pack includes BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Head-Up Display and Augmented View on the Control Display, as well as Parking Assistant Plus.
Components of the Premium Pack include wireless charging, Comfort Access, logo light projection from the exterior mirrors, automatic dimming interior mirrors and Adaptive LED headlights. The program of optional extras also includes 2-zone automatic air conditioning, a panoramic glass sunroof and the Harman Kardon hi-fi sound system.
