Aston Martin Vantage Roadster: let that V8 roar!

January 15, 2025

Aston Martin Vantage Roadster: engine and performance.

Under the hood of the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces 665 hp (490 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission with the help of an electronically controlled limited slip differential. The result is 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 325 km/h. Thanks to the folding hood, the distinctive engine sound of the V8 can be experienced even better.

Weight saving and structure

The Vantage Roadster uses an aluminum chassis with composite body panels. Despite the addition of a folding hood, the weight gain remains limited to just 60 kg compared to the Coupe. Weight distribution of 49:51 and strategic reinforcements ensure that the Roadster offers the same high level of rigidity.

Suspension and brakes

The suspension consists of double wishbones at the front and a multilink suspension at the rear, combined with adaptive Bilstein DTX dampers. The brakes feature 410 mm carbon-ceramic discs and six-piston calipers at the front. According to the manufacturer, this configuration offers reliable braking power even under heavy use. Specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires should provide optimum grip and direct steering feel.

Aerodynamics and design

The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster retains the sleek lines of the Coupe, both with the hood up and down. The new Z-fold hood opens and closes in just 6.8 seconds at speeds up to 50 mph. The larger grille optimizes airflow to the engine and contributes to performance. Options such as new paint colors and wheel designs offer extensive personalization options.

Interior Aston Martin Vantage Roadster

The Vantage Roadster is equipped with Aston Martin’s latest infotainment system, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen and physical buttons for essential functions. For audio enthusiasts, there is a standard 11-speaker audio system or an optional system from Bowers & Wilkins, tailored specifically to the Roadster’s interior.

Heritage and future

The Vantage Roadster builds on a tradition that began with the DB2 in 1950. This year, Aston Martin also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the V8 Vantage, a milestone in the brand’s modern era.

Market introduction Aston Martin Vantage Roadster

Delivery of the Vantage Roadster will begin in the second quarter of 2025. Along with other models, such as the DB12 and the upcoming Valhalla, the Roadster forms an integral part of Aston Martin’s diverse model lineup.
