Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate: an impressive farewell to the DBS
Super GT flagship
Feel free to call the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate a DBS on steroids. There is also an immediate sad story attached to this supercar/GT. Indeed, it marks the end of this Super GT flagship from Aston Martin. But the Brits do say goodbye in style, as under the hood lies a 5.2-liter twinturbo V12 engine producing 770 hp (at 6,500 rpm) and a whopping 900 Nm (between 1,800 and 5,000 rpm).
Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate: technology
That’s enough power for a top speed of 211 mph, which converts to 338 km/h. Aston Martin achieved this power increase by modifying the air path and boosting the turbo pressure by 7%. Shifting is done with an eight-speed automatic from ZF. The 770 hp are transmitted to the rear wheels via a mechanical limited slip. To force things to stop, Aston Martin installs the Carbon Ceramic Braking System(CCB). The front brake discs measure 410 mm x 38 mm, while the rear is 360 mm x 32 mm. hefty pancakes, in other words.
Undercarriage modifications
For increased steering feel and better handling, lateral stiffness at the front of the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate has been improved by 25%. This increase was achieved with an improved front crossmember and 3% increase in torsional stiffness.
Eye-catching wheels
A notable feature of the DBS 770 Ultimate is its unique wheel design. Aston Martin is installing 21-inch alloy wheels inspired by the wheels on the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Victor. The wheels are available in a Satin Silver finish, Satin Black finish or optional Satin Black with Diamond Turned finish. Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires – 265/35 R21 at the front and 305/30 R21 at the rear – are standard.
Not spared!
Roberto Fedeli, Chief Technology Officer of Aston Martin, said, “When an iconic model generation reaches the end of production, it is important to mark the occasion with something special. In the case of the DBS 770 Ultimate, we spared nothing to ensure that the final version of our current mass-produced flagship is the best ever in every respect. Thanks to a comprehensive series of improvements to the transmission, steering, suspension and ground structure, it is not only the fastest and most powerful DBS in our history, it is also the best.”
