Already 1 million cars? Cupra on the rise
The millionth Cupra Formentor
The anniversary car is a Cupra Formentor e-Hybrid in the matte color Magnetic Tech. The model carries all the brand’s signature design elements: a sharp nose line, the triangular matrix LED lighting and the illuminated logo on the rear. The plug-in hybrid powertrain delivers 200 kW (272 hp) thanks to a combination of a 1.5 TSI gasoline engine, an electric motor and a 19.7 kWh battery pack. The model has since become both the best-selling Cupra and the most popular crossover in its segment in Europe.
Nice extra!
To celebrate reaching the millionth car, Cupra is raffling off a Formentor e-Hybrid among its employees, who may use the vehicle for three years in appreciation of their efforts.
From start-up to full-fledged brand
Cupra was founded seven years ago as an independent brand within the Volkswagen Group, with a focus on sporty models positioned between the volume and premium segments. The lineup now consists of seven models: the Ateca, Leon, Leon Sportstourer, Formentor, Born, Tavascan and Terramar. This will be followed in 2026 by the Cupra Raval, a compact electric car with which the brand is targeting a younger audience.

Martorell as a center of electrification
The Martorell plant plays a key role in the electrification of the Spanish automotive industry. Cupra is working with the Volkswagen Group and partners on a 10 billion euro investment in electric mobility, of which 3 billion euros will be used specifically for the electrification of the Martorell production sites.
Electric Urban Car family
There, Line 1 is currently being prepared for production of the Volkswagen Group’s Electric Urban Car family. From the first half of next year, the Cupra Raval and the Volkswagen ID. Polo will roll off the assembly line. Construction of a new 300 million euro battery assembly plant is also nearing completion, further strengthening the industrial transformation.
