The A290_β – pronounced “beta” – follows Alpine’s branding strategy, where the name begins with an “A” followed by three digits. The term “beta” was inspired by beta testing in the software world, according to the French. The last two digits represent lifestyle as well as sports cars, while the first digit refers to the size of the car.
