Absurd: rear spoiler for Crocs, extra downforce when running?
Origin of Crocs
The Croc as we know it today has an interesting history that begins in the early 2000s.
The Croc was originally designed by three friends: Lyndon “Duke” Hanson, George Boedecker Jr.
and Scott Seamans.
The idea for the shoe came about during a sailing trip in 2001.
They were looking for a comfortable, water-resistant shoe that would not slip on wet surfaces.
During their search, they stumbled upon a Canadian manufacturer, Foam Creations, which had developed a unique material called Croslite.
This material was lightweight, flexible and offered good grip and comfort, which made it perfect for water sports.
First shoe from Crocs
The first Croc shoe, called “The Beach,” was launched in 2002 at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
The shoe was initially intended for boaters and sailors because of its slip-resistant and water-resistant properties.
However, the shoe quickly proved popular with a much wider audience because of its comfort and unique style.
The popularity of Crocs grew rapidly.
What began as a niche product for water sports enthusiasts quickly became a global phenomenon.
The company expanded its product line with new designs and colors, and the shoes became popular in a variety of industries, from the medical world to the fashion industry.
Although Crocs are often praised for their comfort, they have also been the subject of controversy because of their unconventional and often criticized aesthetic.
Nevertheless, they have achieved cult status and are worn by a wide range of people, from celebrities to ordinary consumers.
