Abarth 500e: this is all you need to know
How fast is the new Abarth 500e?
The new Abarth 500e is equipped with a 42 kWh battery and, of course, a nice strong electric motor. The electric motor produces 155 hp (113.7 kW) and 235 Nm of torque. With that, the electric Abarth sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just seven seconds. The sprint from 40 to 60 km/h takes only 1.5 seconds.
Three riding modes
There is a choice of three driving modes, namely Turismo, Scorpion Street and Scorpion Track. In Turismo mode, engine power is limited to 100 kW and a maximum of 220 Nm of torque. In Scorpion Street, maximum power is available and the regenerative braking system is in its most aggressive mode. One pedal driving is, of course, possible. Mode Scorpion Track is obviously intended for really sporty rides. The intervention of driver assistance systems is then limited.
Abarth 500e charging
Fortunately, charging the Abarth 500e can also be done fairly quickly. Thanks to an 85 kW fast-charging capability, charging the battery to 80 percent takes about 35 minutes.
Abarth jingle
At startup and shutdown, a specific Abarth jingle sounds. The Fiat 500e – on which the Abarth variant is based – does the same thing, only with its own sound. The Abarth also has a “Sound Generator” in which the electric car produces a sporty sound.
Abarth 500e Scorpionissima
Abarth kicks off with a limited edition: the Abarth 500e Scorpionissima. Abarth is building a total of 1,949 units of this version, a tribute to the year of Abarth’s founding. There is a choice of hatchback or convertible, and Abarth supplies it in colors including Acid Green and Poison Blue.
Equipment Scorpionissima
The new Abarth 500e Scorpionissima is equipped with 18-inch Titanium Grey wheels, metal foot pedals, various Abarth logos, alcantara seat upholstery and an Uconnect Radio Touchscreen 10.25-inch with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Abarth 500e Scorpionissima is further equipped with six airbags and various driving assistance systems, such as Traffic Sign Information, Autonomous Emergency Brake with pedestrian and cyclist recognition, Intelligent Speed Assistant, Lane Keeping Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection, Attention assist, Cruise control, Blind Spot warning and Emergency call.
Starting price Abarth 500e Scorpionissima
The electric Abarth will enter the market in June 2023. The starting price of the new Abarth 500e Scorpionissima is 44,000 euros for the hatchback. The convertible version costs 47,000 euros.
