A Peugeot EV with 700 km range? He is coming in 2023!
Five new EVs from Peugeot in two years
Five new EVs from Peugeot will appear in the next two years. The brand kicks off with a Peugeot e-308, followed by the Peugeot e-308 SW and an electric version of the new 408. It will logically be called e-408. After that, things get really interesting: For Peugeot is also introducing the e-3008 and e-5008.
Peugeot e-3008 and e-5008
The Peugeot e-3008 will enter the market in the second half of 2023. The French car brand promises a range of up to 700 kilometers. There are three powertrains to choose from, including a dual engine powertrain. The e-3008 is the first car on the new STLA Medium platform. Shortly after the e-3008 follows the e-5008 with the same technology.
From 2030 only EVs
Of course, all those EVs appear for a reason. Indeed, Peugeot’s goal is crystal clear: from 2030, Peugeot will sell only 100 percent electric cars in Europe. That seems far away, but in seven years it will be a reality.
New mild-hybrids also on the way
Peugeot is using the next seven years for a transition period. There will be new mild-hybrid powertrains for the 208, 2008, 308, 3008, 5008 and 408 in 2023, for example. This technology consists of a new generation PureTech gasoline engine with 100 or 136 hp, mated to an electrified six-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission (E-DCS6), which cooperates with a 21 kW electric motor.
