Dies ist nicht nur ein bekannter Werbeslogan, sondern trifft sicherlich auch auf einige Autos zu. Der Toyota Corolla der Generation E80 war ein beliebtes Modell, das in den 1980er und 1990er Jahren h\u00e4ufig anzutreffen war. Obwohl der Corolla mit seiner Zuverl\u00e4ssigkeit punktete, war er ansonsten ein eher durchschnittliches und unauff\u00e4lliges Modell. Wie anders ist es doch anno 2024. Der Corolla E80 ist so gut wie aus dem Stra\u00dfenbild verschwunden. Als wir nach langer Zeit wieder einmal auf einen solchen Wagen stie\u00dfen, fiel er uns sofort ins Auge.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Das gefleckte Exemplar<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Bei diesem Fahrzeug, das wir in einem Gewerbegebiet in Hoorn gefunden haben, handelt es sich um einen Toyota Corolla 1.3 DX von 1986. Der jetzige Eigent\u00fcmer besitzt es seit 2016. Laut unserer Zulassungspr\u00fcfung ist das erst der zweite Besitzer, denn derjenige, der den Corolla neu gekauft hat, f\u00e4hrt das Auto seit nicht weniger als 30 Jahren herum. Damit hatten wir auch gleich alle Details. Ansonsten handelt es sich um einen ganz normalen Toyota Corolla in jeder Hinsicht. Heute besteht die Corolla-Baureihe aus drei Karosserievarianten (Schr\u00e4gheck, Kombi, Limousine), aber in den 1980er Jahren gab es eine erweiterte Corolla-Familie. Neben der drei- und f\u00fcnft\u00fcrigen Schr\u00e4ghecklimousine gab es auch eine viert\u00fcrige Limousine, einen f\u00fcnft\u00fcrigen Liftback, ein zweit\u00fcriges Coup\u00e9 und ein dreit\u00fcriges Coup\u00e9. Die Limousine war auch mit zwei verschiedenen Dachlinien erh\u00e4ltlich, so dass insgesamt nicht weniger als sieben Karosserievarianten zur Verf\u00fcgung standen. Die beiden Coup\u00e9-Varianten standen jedoch auf einer anderen, heckgetriebenen Plattform, die noch auf dem bisherigen Corolla E70 basierte. Die Coup\u00e9s sind daher besser unter den Fahrgestellcodes AE85 und AE86 bekannt. Sie wurden auch als mehr oder weniger eigenst\u00e4ndige Modelle unter den Namen Toyota Corolla Levin und Toyota Sprinter Trueno angeboten.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Motoren Toyota Corolla E80<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Die meisten Toyota Corolla E80-Modelle basierten auf einer neuen Plattform mit Frontantrieb. Die 1,3-, 1,5- und 1,6-Liter-Vierzylinder-Benzinmotoren wurden jedoch von der vorherigen Generation \u00fcbernommen. Neu war ein 1,8-Liter-Diesel. Das genaue Angebot variierte von Kontinent zu Kontinent und es w\u00fcrde zu weit f\u00fchren, hier alle Unterschiede aufzuz\u00e4hlen. Auf jeden Fall ist eine der beiden viert\u00fcrigen Limousinen und das dreit\u00fcrige Coup\u00e9 an Europa vorbeigefahren. Bis auf den semi-sportlichen GT mussten wir auch auf die Sportversionen verzichten.<\/p>\n<p>1985 wurde der Corolla E80 einem dezenten Facelifting unterzogen.
