Der Frontera wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Isuzu entwickelt und war eng mit dem Isuzu MU und sp\u00e4ter dem Isuzu Wizard verwandt. Die erste Generation (1991-1998) war mit 2,0- bis 2,4-Liter-Vierzylinder-Benzinmotoren erh\u00e4ltlich, aber auch als Turbodiesel: ein 2,3-Liter- und sp\u00e4ter ein 2,8-Liter-Motor. Eine zweite Generation des Frontera wurde 1998 eingef\u00fchrt und bis 2004 gebaut.
