Unter der Haube arbeitet ein 2,8-Liter-Dieselmotor, der mit einem 48-Volt-Hybridsystem gekoppelt ist. Der Turbodieselmotor treibt \u00fcber einen Riemen einen kompakten elektrischen Motor-Generator an. Das wiederum l\u00e4dt die neue 48-Volt-Lithium-Batterie auf. Die Batterie wiegt 7,6 Kilogramm und ist klein genug, um unter den R\u00fccksitz zu passen. Die Auswirkungen auf den Innenraum sind also minimal. Die Batterie versorgt auch das 12-Volt-System des Hilux \u00fcber einen neuen DC\/DC-Wandler.<\/p>\n<h2>Energier\u00fcckgewinnung<\/h2>\n<p>Wie die anderen Hybridantriebe von Toyota l\u00e4dt auch der Hilux Hybrid 48V-Antriebsstrang die Batterie beim Bremsen wieder auf.
